A technical IBM pdf released in 2011 could lead to think the original branch would be somehow discontinued but as we read here it was just a matter of &#8220;finding a place for each tool&#8221;:<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1113\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1113\" style=\"width: 749px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.artifactconsulting.com\/lapeira\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/conclusionbpm.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\" wp-image-1113 \" alt=\"conclusionbpm\" src=\"http:\/\/www.artifactconsulting.com\/lapeira\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/conclusionbpm.png\" width=\"749\" height=\"98\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.artifactconsulting.com\/lapeira\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/conclusionbpm.png 749w, https:\/\/www.artifactconsulting.com\/lapeira\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/conclusionbpm-300x39.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 749px) 100vw, 749px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1113\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">&#8220;Modeling for execution&#8221; interesting expression<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Which can be detailed the following way:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>WebSphere Business Modeler (the IBM traditional brand line) no longer supported for modeling for execution<\/li>\n<li>WBPM V7.5 Process Designer (lombardi based brand) is the new tool for this class of modeling (so called &#8216;execution&#8217; which is somehow not true as you yet need some BPEL and a lot of code from the WID and RAD)<\/li>\n<li>WebSphere Business Modeler 7.0 is the preferred tool for modeling for documentation and simulation (makes sense due to the flash&#8217;y interface and the blueworks revamp we saw in 2012-2013 as maybe a presales tool)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Note: WebSphere Business Modeler 7.0.0.4 provides a plugin to export BPMN 2.0 if you want to take your diagrams to Lombardi (or wherever), you may lose some elements but mostly non standard features that prevent portability.<\/p>\n<p>The following drawing represent the focus that is being promoted with Business Process Manager Suite 7.5<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.artifactconsulting.com\/lapeira\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/lombardi-wid.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1117 aligncenter\" alt=\"lombardi wid\" src=\"http:\/\/www.artifactconsulting.com\/lapeira\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/lombardi-wid.png\" width=\"567\" height=\"415\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.artifactconsulting.com\/lapeira\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/lombardi-wid.png 567w, https:\/\/www.artifactconsulting.com\/lapeira\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/lombardi-wid-300x219.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 567px) 100vw, 567px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Knowing each solution in detail you can tell why they chose that approach and kudos for the Architecture guys at IBM&#8230; If I had any money I would buy IBM stock.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In short: No IBM BPM product branch is getting terminated and you can mix them however you want.
